Manchester United are lining up a sensational triple swoop of young English talent – with Jadon Sancho, Declan Rice and Aaron Wan-Bissaka reportedly on the club’s radar.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was today confirmed as United’s new permanent manager, has reportedly told the Old Trafford hierarchy he wants to prioritise English players and strengthen the club’s home-grown core.
According to The Sun, Borussia Dortmund’s Sancho and West Ham’s Rice top Solskjaer’s list of summer targets, while they will move for Crystal Palace’s Wan-Bissaka if any defenders leave this summer.
Sancho, valued at £80million, and £40million-rated Rice have both emerged as potential future England stars after being called up to the senior squad by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate.
LATEST TRANSFER NEWS
Hammers midfielder Rice, 20, could represent a long-term replacement for Ander Herrera amid reports the Spaniard could join Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires this summer.
Meanwhile, Dortmund winger Sancho, 19, is rated as one of the brightest teenagers in world football after a stellar breakthrough season in the Bundesliga, while 21-year-old right-back Wan-Bissaka has been a standout player in the Premier League this term.
The Sun reports that Solskjaer has been hugely impressed with the work done by Southgate with England’s youth.
Chelsea’s wanted away winger Callum Hudson-Odoi also earned his first England cap in recent weeks, and United are rumoured to be in a race with Barcelona and Bayern Munich for his signature.
