Ultimate Charity Auction: Watch Anthony Joshua fight in New York, go behind the scenes at Tottenham’s new stadium and more amazing experiences

A chance to witness Anthony Joshua’s first fight on American soil at New York’s Madison Square Garden is topping the bill at a global online auction that has raised more than £1million since its inception.

The Ultimate Charity Auction, which has just launched and runs until Thursday, April 11, has once again brought together some of the biggest names in sport to offer a glittering array of over 100 money-can’t-buy experiences.

One lucky bidder and a guest could be taking their seat to witness Joshua take on Jarrell Miller in NYC in a star-studded auction prize, which also includes flights, accommodation and boxing gloves signed and personalised by the current IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion of the world.

FC Barcelona, long-term supporters of the Ultimate Charity Auction, have once again come up trumps with an incredible opportunity for two people to watch some of the world’s best players train – and then take in a home match at the Camp Nou.

Closer to home, there is a tantalising chance to go behind the scenes at the new state-of-the-art, 62,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur stadium, escorted by club legend Ledley King, or enjoy being the star of your very own Arsenal matchday programme along with tickets in the Director’s Box.

Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard are among the star clubs and players who have also donated star prizes.

The auction also includes the chance to take your place in the studio and watch either Gillette Soccer Saturday, Chris Evans or the Alan Brazil Breakfast Show on talkSPORT unfold, or join two friends on a round of golf at Hanbury Manor with former Tottenham, Liverpool and England goalkeeper Ray Clemence.

Fresh from his pursuit of a play-off spot, and potential Premier League football next season, Bristol City boss Lee Johnson has once again supported the auction by offering a chance to take part in a training session with the Robins and then enjoy lunch with the boss.

There is also an opportunity to benefit from an exclusive coaching session with a LMA Ambassador, or be part of a team in the annual LMA seven-a-side tournament at St George’s Park.

Away from the beautiful game, the Ultimate Charity Auction also boasts a cricketing masterclass courtesy of Andrew Strauss, VIP experiences at either Royal Ascot and Henley Royal Regatta or a chance to star in the next instalment of Football Manager.

There is also the Ultimate sports fan ticket bundle up for grabs which includes two tickets to the AIG Women’s British Open, England’s rugby team taking on Wales at Twickenham in September, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth and any PDC Premier League Darts Night of your choice during the 2020 season.

The auction also includes a host of other unique prizes from across the football world including mascot packages, executive boxes and a chance to see your favourite players get put through their paces in training sessions.

The Ultimate Charity Auction has raised more than £1million for national and local charities since its inception after attracting glittering prizes from household names in sport, celebrity and lifestyle.

This year, the beneficiaries will be the League Managers Association Charity – In The Game – and the GeeWizz charitable foundation, headed by veteran fundraiser and auction founder Gina Long MBE.

GeeWizz provides specialist equipment to children and young adults up to the age of 21, living in Suffolk and Norfolk, with life-threatening conditions, disability or cancer.

What the Ultimate Charity Auction aims to achieve

The Ultimate Charity Auction was launched in 2012 to provide an online fundraising platform to support national and local charities. The global auction has already raised £1,018,000 and was designed to capture the imagination of its bidders, offering money can’t buy prizes and experiences from the worlds of sport, lifestyle and celebrity.

This year it will be raising funds for GeeWizz Charity and the League Managers Association Charity–In the Game. In particular, the auction will be funding a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disneyland for a little girl called Emily Mullen from Lowestoft, Suffolk. Emily sadly suffers from a range of complex health conditions meaning that she is now classed as terminally ill. She is also blind and has developed a love for Disney songs. Funds from the auction will cover the costs of this trip for Emily and her family, giving them the opportunity to make memories of a lifetime.

GeeWizz Charity support children and young adults who live with a life-threatening condition, a disability or cancer by purchasing specialist equipment such as electric wheelchairs and bespoke car sears, and physiotherapy that the NHS does not fund.

The LMA Charity–In the Game aims to increase its funding, remit and visibility of the LMA Charity and increase its contribution to the wider community. They help members and their families who have fallen on difficult times or find themselves in need of specialist care, advice or assistance.

Funds from this year’s auction will help support projects around mental health in sport.

Gina said: “The Ultimate Charity Auction has always captured the imagination of both donors and those bidding on the fantastic money-can’t-buy prizes.

“But this year’s auction will be the biggest and best yet with a glittering array or prizes from the world of sport, celebrity and lifestyle.

“We are humbled to have such a star-studded list of auctions which we hope will raised an incredible sum of money and make a huge difference to the lives of the people we support.”
