Borussia Dortmund teenager Youssoufa Moukoko breaks Under-17 Bundesliga scoring record… and he’s only 14

Youssoufa Moukoko is a name to watch for the future as he has just broken the record for most goals scored in a single Under-17 Bundesliga season.

What makes this feat all the more impressive is that the rising Borussia Dortmund star is playing above his age group.

In fact, he’s playing well above his age group as Moukoko is still only 14!

Moukoko netted 46 times in 25 games as Dortmund finished top of the Under-17 Bundesliga West table, to qualify for the national semi-finals.

This is the most goals ever scored by a single player in a single Under-17 campaign in Germany, and Dortmund took to Twitter to congratulate their wonderkid.

The German club signed Moukoko from St. Pauli in 2016 and he went on to score 33 goals in 21 matches for their Under-15s.

He was then promoted to the Under-17 age group where he was playing against players up to four years older than him, and he’s thrived in the two seasons since.

There have been some questions as to the age of the Cameroon-born forward, but BVB youth coordinator Lars Ricken defended the youngster in 2017 and his father, Joseph, has refuted claims Moukoko may be older than 14.

“Right after his birth, I registered him with the German consulate in Yaounde (Cameroon’s capital),” he told the club’s website.

“The boy can’t be older because his mum, Marie, is only 28.”
