Celtic manager Neil Lennon insists Scott Brown has ‘nothing to defend himself for’ after being treated ‘disgracefully’ in last weekend’s Old Firm derby.


The Hoops captain was slapped with a Scottish FA charge for ‘not acting in the best of interests of association football’ during a 2-1 win over Rangers.

Brown was struck by Alfredo Morelos – who was sent off for his actions – and Ryan Kent during the game, before clashing with Andy Halliday at full-time.


Kent is facing a two-match ban, while Halliday was shown a second yellow card following a post-match confrontation.


Lennon told Celtic TV: “My players have been exemplary, absolutely exemplary, under immense provocation themselves.
